Intel launches 'Rocket Lake' desktop processors with lower prices than AMD

  • Intel launches the 11th Gen Intel Core S-series processors (codename: Rocket Lake-S), which is built on the new Cypress Cove architecture that offers an up to 19% gen-over-gen instructions per cycle improvement.
  • The 11th Generation also includes Intel 's latest Xe graphics architecture, Intel UHD Graphics 750.
  • The flagship i9-11900K processor has eight cores and 16 threads, reaches speeds of up to 5.3GHz with Intel Thermal Velocity Boost, supports DDR4 RAM at 3,200MHz, and has a total of 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes.
  • Prices for the new processor family start at $182 and go up to $539 for the top-end flagship model. The processors go on sale March 30.

    Over the current book year the total revenu from the company based in Santa Clara will be 72.74 billion USD (consensus estimates). This is slightly lower than 2020's revenue of 77.87 billion USD.
