Kraft Heinz to acquire Brazilian food company Hemmer

  • The Kraft Heinz Company (NASDAQ:KHC) signs agreement to buy Brazilian condiments and sauces company - Companhia Hemmer Industria e Comércio ((Hemmer)).
  • Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
  • The acquisition comes as a part of Kraft Heinz 's taste elevation strategy that will see the addition of over 250 meal-enhancing products in Brazil, a priority market for the company.
  • "This acquisition offers us a valuable opportunity to accelerate our international growth strategy centered around Taste Elevation - our portfolio of high-quality products that enhance the taste of food. Hemmer is a legendary company in Brazil, growing net sales significantly, and will bring a delicious and diverse portfolio of products to Kraft Heinz ," says Rafael Oliveira, International Zone President at Kraft Heinz .
  • In turn, Hemmer is to benefit from Kraft Heinz 's distribution network and go-to-market model, including the growing foodservice channel in Brazil.
  • However, the completion of this transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals.

    For this year the company from Pittsburgh could earn a total revenue around 25.35 billion USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is slightly lower than 2021's revenue of 26.19 billion USD.
