Sandvik to acquire DWFritz Automation to bolster metrology, automation portfolio

  • Sweden's Sandvik (OTCPK:SDVKY) is acquiring Wilsonville, Oregon-based DWFritz Automation for an undisclosed price.
  • DWFritz is a provider of precision metrology, inspection- and assembly solutions for advanced manufacturing. In 2020, the company generated revenues of about SEK720M (USD 78 million).
  • "This is in line with our strategic focus to grow organically and through acquisitions in the advanced manufacturing space, with special focus on industrial software, industrial metrology- and additive manufacturing solutions," said Sandvik President and CEO Stefan Widing.
  • DWFritz will be reported in Sandvik Metrology division, within business area Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.
  • "By acquiring DWFritz Automation we will be able to expand our metrology and automation offering further. This will not only strengthen our position, but will also enable us to offer full metrology solutions to our customers - which will reduce cost and improve quality significantly in their broader value chain," said Kim Hansen, president of the metrology division in Sandvik manufacturing solutions.
  • Sandvik said impact on its EPS will initially be neutral.
  • The transaction is expected to close in the second half, subject to regulatory approvals.

    Over the current book year the total revenue from the company in Stockholm will be 95.99 billion SEK (consensus estimates). This is hugely more than 2021's revenue of 86.4 billion SEK.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 13.99 billion SEK. For this year the consensus of the result per share is a profit of 11.14 SEK. So the price/earnings-ratio equals 20.42.

    Per share the analysts expect a dividend of 5.14 SEK per share. Thus the dividend yield equals 2.26 percent. The average dividend yield of the industrial companies is an attractive 1.62 percent.
