Ford acquires Electriphi in a strategic move aimed at commercial customers going electric

  • Ford (F) announces its plans to acquire Electriphi in a deal that it sees as providing a benefit to its commercial customers.
  • Electriphi is described as a California-based provider of charging management and fleet monitoring software for electric vehicles. The automaker plans to integrate Electriphi's team and services into Ford Pro, which it says is a new global business within Ford committed to commercial customer productivity and to developing the most advanced charging and energy management experiences.
  • Ford Pro plans on leveraging its leadership position in the commercial vehicle market, its vehicle offerings and Electriphi's technology to help commercial customers with their EV transition.
  • Ford Pro estimates that the depot charging industry will grow to over 600K full-size trucks and vans by 2030. The new acquisition supports the target to capture over $1B of revenue from charging by 2030.

    For this year the company from Dearborn could earn a total revenue around 129.99 billion USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is slightly more than 2020's revenue of 127.14 billion USD.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 4.61 billion USD. For this year the majority of the analysts, consulted by press agency Thomson Reuters, expects a profit per share of 1.12 USD. Based on this the price/earnings-ratio is 13.56.

    For this year analysts don't expect the company to pay a dividend. The average dividend yield of the automobile producers equals an attractive2.75 percent.

    Based on the current number of shares Ford Motor's market capitalization equals 60.93 billion USD. The Ford Motor stock was the past 12 months quite volatile. Since last June the stock is even 157 percent higher. This year the stock price moved between 6 and 16 dollar.
