Nike expected to navigate around China boycott issue

Nike has around 20% of it's revenu from China

  • Oppenheimer is confident that Nike (NYSE:NKE) will work through its issues in China with the Xinjiang situation.
  • Analyst Brian Nagel: "In our view, while the situation in China for Nike remains fluid and at least somewhat opaque, we expect dynamics to resolve over time given NKE's history of managing well geopolitical issues elsewhere, including in the US, and the long-standing power of the company's brand and consumer connections."
  • Nike 's sales in China currently account for roughly 20% of total revenue.

    Over the current book year the total revenu from the company based in Beaverton will be 43.35 billion USD (consensus estimates). This is hugely more than 2020's revenue of 37.4 billion USD.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 5.06 billion USD. Most of the analysts anticipate on a profit per share of 3.14 USD. The price/earnings-ratio therefore equals 42.21.

    For this year most of the analysts expect a dividend of 1.03 USD per share. Nike 's dividend yield thus equals 0.78 percent. The average dividend yield of the personal goods companies is a low 0.78 percent.

    Credit Suisse , RBC Capital Markets and JP Morgan recently provided recommendations for the stock.

    Based on the current number of outstanding shares Nike 's market capitalization is 166.06 billion USD. The Nike stock was the past 12 months quite volatile. Since last April the stock is even 67 percent higher. This year the stock price moved between 77 and 148 dollar.
