TripAdvisor huge underperformer in American internet sector

Because of the huge loss of 20 percent since early this year, the share is one of the worst shares of the internet sector. The average stock of the internet sector yielded the this year a loss of 8 percent. Other shares in the peer group with big losses are TripAdvisor, Sqli and Akamai. TripAdvisor, Sqli and Akamai are among the losers in the sector.

Momentum internet sector

For the average share in the sector around 33 times the earnings per share is paid. The sector trades at 3,53 times the book value per share. Since 2012 the sector is 295 percent higher and since 2007 606 percent higher.

Over the current book year the total revenue will be 1,69 billion USD (consensus estimates). This is slightly more than 2017's revenue of 1,62 billion USD.
