American Express is also known as AmEx, on March 28, 1850 American Express Company was founded by Henry Wells, William G. Fargo and John Warren Butterfield and is having its headquartered in New York, NY, United States. It is an international financial services company which offers charge & credit payment card products and travel-related services to consumers globally and whose headquarter is situated in Three World Financial Center, Manhattan, New York, United States. American Express was founded in the year 1850 and its logo is a Roman gladiator whose image is visible on company's travelers' cheques and charge cards.

American Express functions and work all the way through four major segments: Card Services in U.S, International Card Services, Global Commercial Services and Global Network & Merchant Services. The Global Commercial Services sector offers management services of expenses to several companies & associations internationally via its Global Corporate Payments and Global Business Travel businesses. This service also provides a wide range of expense management solutions to businesses globally through its Corporate Card Programs and B2B Payment Solutions. Global Business Travel helps business to manage and optimize their funds and service their employees while traveling. The Global Network & Merchant services division functions on a global payments network that processes all card transactions. It also supplies point-of-sale products, multi-channel marketing plans and potential, data & services, leveraging the universal network.
