In September 1996, Telenet was incorporated to deliver telephony and internet services in Flanders. Telenet’s franchise area covers the northern half of Belgium known as Flanders, whose 5.9 million inhabitants represent approximately 58% of the total population of Belgium. Telenet is the largest provider of broadband cable services in Belgium, its business comprises the provision of basic and premium cable television, high speed internet and telephony services, primarily to residential customers in Flanders.
