McDonald's Corporation
McDonald's Corporation is the conglomerate industry or company in the field of restaurants which provides the franchisee to McDonald's quick serving restaurants and operates them making them the largest chain of fast food (hamburger) restaurants worldwide. This company has been formed back on 15th of April in 1955 by Raymond Albert Kroc and had been head-quartered as McDonald's Plaza in Oak Brook, Illinois. The present CEO for the company is Donald Thompson who is also the President and Director of the company. MacDonald’s Corp. serves on an average 68 M customers (daily) in over 119 countries worldwide with the help of 34,000 restaurants all over with a working strength of more than 1.7 M employees all there.
The shares of the company are been handled out (traded) by New York Stock Exchange and has become one of the components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average with a target of annual revenue of 27 Billion $ in the last year being achieved with the profit of 5.5 Billion $ giving the net margin of 20.38 %. S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats has been formed by MacDonald’s Corporation by providing the increase in share holder surplus for the last 25 successive years. And one of the very interesting things to be noted is that the felling of the monthly-sales of this company is for the 1st time in 9 years. This amount of revenue generation is done with the collection of the rent, royalty and the fee payment by the franchisees and also from the sales of the restaurants. The company provides the menu items of low budget among the varied location globally and a consistent menu is provided to a large extent but some of the changes are made due to the difference in the geographical locations and taste of the people living there.
The main feature of the McDonald's restaurant is that it may run as a franchisee or affiliate or itself as a Corporation. The menu items consist of ham-burgers, cheese burgers, French-fries, Big Mac, Filet O Fish, Snack Wraps, Chicken sand-wiches, pies, Chicken McNuggets, salad, oat-meal, shakes, McFlurry (desserts), sundaes, soft serve-cones, pies, softdrinks, coffee, McCafé beverages, smoothies and fruits. On special occasions, McDonald's offerings include McRib sand-wich. The main geographical locations that have been served by the restaurants with their services include US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, Middle-East and Africa. Both the counter-servicing and drive through servicing by having the arrangements of indoor or outdoor seating arrangements depending on the location are generally provided by most of the stand-alone MacDonald’s Restaurants. ‘MacDrive’ or ‘DriveThru’ or ‘AutoMac’, any name that has been given to the same thing and that is the provisions of separation of the stands for placing, paying and picking of the orders, although two of them is generally present in combination.
